The Invitation Education Team and the English Department organize the Student Achievement Celebration Party collaboratively. Students with improvements in their studies or behavior are invited to join the party. Not only can they enjoy snacks and drinks, but they can also learn English. 'Are you ready to be sacred?' is our slogan of the Halloween Fashion Show this year. We had so much fun watching different students dressing in various scary, ugly, horrible, but beautiful and interesting costumes and present thier designs and ideas using the PowerPoint presentations.

A new board game, named Dixit, is introduced. One of the players gives a description of a picture card. Then, other players listen to the English description carefully. They need to guess which card he/she is referring to. It's simple, fun and educational.

England Study Tour Workshop
All participants of 20th Anniversary England Study Tour are required to attend England speaking training workshops on two Saturdays before the tour. The EDB Department of IT in Education provided professional support in the iPad Treasure Hunt. Students Ambassadors are trained to assist in the activity. Participants are required to hunt for 6 checkpoints, scan the QR code with an iPad and complete the tasks in multimedia.

Heathy Kitchen is one of the most popular activities in English Speaking Wednesday. Through making their own ice-cream, students learn the different flavours of ice-cream and the names of the toppings in English, such as chocolate, strawberries, vanilla, etc.

Book Cover Design Competition
In order to encourage students to build up the reading habit, the Book Cover Design Competition is held. The whole school voted for their favourite book cover designed by 12 junior form students. Three students with the top number of votes will be awarded a certificate and a book coupon.

Students share a story about the blue umbrella in the morning assembly. Then, a pop-up quiz about the meanings of the 4 letters C, Y, M and A was held. At lunchtime, students play new board games in ELSAC.

English Week
English Kitchen
Mr Gray and English Ambassadors provided delicious milkshake drinks for students at the covered playground. There were two favours, chocolate and strawberries with lovely toppings and rich smoothy ice-cream. Students needed to say some English to the teachers and Ambassadors in order to get one. Some parents also joined us to share our joy. It was a wonderful relaxing lunchbreak having a cool milkshake at hand. All the students and parents enjoyed the time very much.

Today is the last day of the English Week. Students could enjoy the food and drinks in the English Cafe if they get a certain number of stamps and teachers' signature.
Thematic Day
On the Thematic Day, students could play six booth games about science. After they have collected 4 stamps, they could get cotton candy as reward!
Inter-house Quiz Competition
The inter-house quiz competition is an annual event in the English Week! The theme of this year is Science. Both junior and senior students joined the competition.
Treasure Hunt and Film Show
Treasure Hunt is a brand new programme in the English Week! Students need to find the locations by reading the clues given. At the same time, the moviegoers could enjoy watching a film related to Science entitled 'Wall-E' in the covered playground.

A group of S2 students participated in the Hong Kong School Drama Festival for the second year. They did much better than last year and looked fascinated in the play called "The Little Ice-cream Twins". They worked very hard and learned a lot about English speaking.

Environmentally-Friendly Halloween Fashion Show(2012-2013)
- This year, C.Y.Ma held its second annual Environmentally-Friendly Halloween Fashion Show. Each class was given a month’s time to construct a costume using only recycled materials and had to give a short presentation (in English) about the outfit to the adjudicators. The event was held at lunchtime in the School Hall on Halloween Day. The students enjoyed being able to display their creativity and everyone was surprised by how many different things you could make with just a few recycled pieces! The costumes were scary, beautiful, shocking, and entertaining. All the classes put on a great show and we look forward to seeing more creative costumes next year!
